Ingredients

  • 2.2 pounds/1 kg grass-fed organic beef mince
  • 1 small onion, very finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • Iceberg lettuce leaves, separated
  • Flaxseeds, freshly ground
  • Baked mushroom

Options

  • Cheddar cheese
  • Fresh tomatoes
  • Avocado, sliced
  • Sunflower sprouts and any other sprouts
  • Onion, sliced into rings
  • Salsa (see below)
  • Relish
  • Poached / fried egg

Preparation

  1. Mix together the mince and other ingredients
  2. Mould into pattie size and place on a plate
  3. Heat up some ghee and fry for 6 minutes each side, until golden brown
  4. Place each pattie in a large-sized lettuce leaf
  5. Choose some of the options for on top of the pattie
  6. Wrap the lettuce leaf over the burger and secure with a toothpick
  7. Serve with a sprinkle of freshly ground flaxseeds and baked mushroom

Salsa

  • 2 red capsicums, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Preparation

  1. Mix all ingredients together
  2. Serve on the side of the burgers or on top
